A Maximum Volume

The purpose of this activity is to find, given a rectangular piece of paper, the dimensions of the rectangular prism with the maximum volume that can be built using that piece of paper.

By the end of this activity students will:

- Understand the Polya’s four Problem-Solving steps.

- Determine numerically or algebraically the dimensions of the rectangular prism with maximum volume that can be built from a given rectangular paper sheet.

- Explain to their classmates the steps followed to solve this problem and the solutions found
