Today was HOT AND SPICY 🔥🌶️. We had someone make it all the way up to level 5 in our hot sauce testing, which was extremely impressive. While this is all we got done today, we were extremely impressed at how well our participant was able to withstand the heat.
Even though we had finals it didn't stop us from rocking out some data collection. With the extra 30 minutes of class we were able to gather hot sauce information from 3 people, including one person who also made it up to level 5.
The new semester started, and things took a turn for the worst 😭😭😭. The new gym class is bigger than the one last semester, meaning that access to a bench is going to be much harder. Despite this setback we took some time to refine our process, finding out that a 1/2 teaspoon is the same as our drop amount, saving us time and pipettes.
No research due to a snow day 😞
Still without access to the gym, we focused on what we could do. This involved emailing teachers and printing out extra permission slips. We're still not sure when we can get into the gym again, but we hope it's soon.
Day 3 of no gym. Things are rough, but there is hope for the future. Thien connected with Dale, the worker at the gym, and we were able to confirm our ability to come up occasionally during 3rd hour. While this by no means ideal, it does allow us some consistent access to the gym.
Today we got hot sauce data from not one but TWO people. Both made it to level 5, a feat that was very impressive. We were also able to gain approval from Mr Rasmus to gather bench press PR data from people verbally, as long as it was done in an "official manner" (like gym class, Winter Warriors, etc). This greatly cuts down on our gym time, and speeds up our process.
