Get a head start on Grade 9 with two days of tips, hints and skills!

High School Here I Come! is a non-credit summer program for Grade 8 students who are starting at a TVDSB high school in September 2024. Students will be provided with a variety of learning skills and strategies designed to help them with their transition to secondary school.

Topics that will be discussed:

• The reality of High School

• Academic expectations and study skills

• Getting and staying organized

• Getting involved in the school community

• Literacy and Numeracy learning skills

For Summer 2026 the High School Here I Come! program will be delivered on site over two days.

Parents will receive communication prior to the start of the program to let them know the dates their child is scheduled to attend.

Program Dates:

Monday August 17, 2026 - Tuesday August 18, 2026 

OR

Wednesday August 19, 2026 - Thursday August 20, 2026

Time: 08:30 am -12:30 pm

PLEASE NOTE: Once registration closes and students are scheduled, parents will receive communication prior to the start of the program to let them know the dates their child is scheduled to attend. Please understand that there are very limited situations in which preference can be given between one session and another.
