Honours
Awarded to any student with an overall average of 80% and higher.
Pace Award
Awarded to a student that demonstrates significant improvement in academics and overall attitude towards school during intermediate years. The recipient recognizes and accepts responsibility for learning and demonstrates the ability to accept a challenge.
Collaboration Award
Awarded the student who excels in:
Accepting various roles and an equitable share of work in a group;
Responding positively to the ideas, opinions, values, and traditions of others;
Building healthy peer-to-peer relationships through personal and media-assisted interactions;
Initiative Award
Awarded the student who excels in:
Looking for and acts on new ideas and opportunities for learning;
Demonstrating the capacity for innovation and a willingness to take risks;
Demonstrating curiosity and interest in learning;
Approaching new tasks with a positive attitude;
Recognizing and advocates appropriately for the rights of self and others.
Global Citizenship
Awarded the student who excels in:
Contributing to society and culture of the local, global, and digital community in a responsible, accountable and ethical manner
Engaging in local and global initiatives to make a difference

Interacting safely and responsibly within a variety of communities

Awarded the student who excels in:
Working with others to resolve conflicts and build consensus to achieve group goals;
Sharing information, resources, and expertise and promotes critical thinking to solve problems and make decisions.
Innovation Award
The Innovation Award is given to someone who demonstrates exceptional creativity and initiative in enhancing the overall school community. Recognizing achievements beyond academics, this honor is given to a student who has actively contributed to the school's betterment through innovative projects, leadership, and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive environment.
Sports Leadership Awards (2 people)
The Sports Leadership Awards are awarded to two people who have participated in a variety of team and individual sports while at Mountsfield. In that time, they have demonstrated good sportsmanship, undertaken leadership opportunities, shown respect for teammates, coaches and officials, as well as fully embracing what it means to be a Mountsfield Mustang.
Valedictorian
A valedictorian is the top-ranking student in a graduating class, recognized for academic excellence and outstanding overall achievements throughout their educational journey. This individual delivers the valedictory speech during the graduation ceremony, expressing gratitude, reflecting on shared experiences, and offering inspiration to their fellow graduates as they embark on new chapters in their lives.
MC's
The Masters of Ceremonies are selected to address the guests, introduce speakers, and provide appropriate stories along the way. They are a part of the graduation ceremony and assist in moving the night along. If you enjoy public speaking, this could be a great opportunity for you!
Subject Certificate Awards:
Awarded to the student with the highest academic average in the given subject area in each of the graduating classrooms.
General Proficiency Award
Awarded to a graduating student with the highest overall academic avaerage.
Ontario Principal's Award
Awarded to the graduate who has demonstrated leadership in class (ex. academic), leadership with peers (ex. Student Council) and leadership in the community (ex. school teams, clubs or community groups).
IODE History Award
IODE is a national Canadian women's charitable organization dedicated to serving children, youth and those in need. They have been working within the London community for 111 years. This award is given to students who showcase exceptional academic proficiency and an unwavering passion for History in all its magnificent forms. This award is also partnered with a cheque made payable to the winner for $100, funded by the IODE.
