This year, all grade 12 students had the opportunity to attend an information session where they learned about the important steps to take as they prepare for graduation. These include:
Review their credit summary in their student portal. Parents/guardians are also encouraged to complete this step to ensure their student is on track to graduate.
If students have not done so already, it is important to review pre-requisites for the programs they are interested in applying to.
Book an appointment with their guidance counsellor to review their plans and ensure they have the courses they need in order to qualify for their desired programs.
Students are encouraged to attend at least 3 different college/university/apprenticeship programs depending on where they are in their research stage. Presentations are offered in a variety of ways: in person at IDCI (only certain schools come out to provide these presentations), through virtual TVDSB presentations with each of the universities and colleges, attend the University Fair, or visit open houses at a variety of colleges and universities.
