Below you will find information on our JUNIOR and SENIOR bands here at Glendale!
Band at Glendale is a course and every student receives a mark half way through the school year as well as a final mark. If the mark is a pass, the student receives a 0.5 credit! If band is taken for 4 years, the student then has received a total of 2 credits that can be used to obtain an Ontario Secondary School Diploma.
Band at Glendale is also a place where every student is welcome and is given a place to be themselves. Band is a place to make friends, build relationships and get better at your instrument or even working with others!

Junior band is for grade 9 and grade 10 students. It runs from 2:30-3:30 pm on TUESDAYS and THURSDAYS.
In Junior band, students learn the basics of playing as a group. Starting off with some easy, level 1 pieces, the Junior band makes huge improvements throughout the year span. By the end of the year, they play higher-level pieces, up to around 2.5!

Senior band is for grade 11 and grade 12 students. It runs from 2:30-3:30 pm on MONDAYS and WEDNESDAYS.
In Senior band, students develop more skill and technique on their instrument. Levelling up from Junior band, Senior plays pieces anywhere from 3-4. Senior band is commonly smaller but has a strong bunch of individuals. Making progress throughout the year, Senior band always shocks the audience at the end of the school year!
