Farm to Table Crops/Livestock Project Description:
As part of your Crop and Soil Management class you will be graded on your ability to plan a seasonally appropriate meal and harvest, clean, and prepare one dish for our 2021 Agroecology Summer Intensive Celebration Dinner guests.
Planning process
Group Discussion [10 pts]: As a group we will plan out what we can/want to make on the whiteboard.
Due: Friday, August 1st 10:00AM
Grading: This will be a participation grade. [0=did not participate; 5=minimal engagement; 10=mildly engaged; 15=fully engaged]
Schedule [10 pts]: From our list of items we are making for the dinner, and the recipes that we have found, the class will create a work flow schedule. What can be made ahead of time? What needs to be done last minute? Who is doing what when? This can be on a white board or a google document, depending on the group's preferences.
Due: Tuesday, August 1st 10:00AM
Grading:
Each dish included in the schedule [2 pts.]
Who/Date/Time each ingredient will be harvested, washed, and prepared [8 pts.]
Preparation of 1 item [30 pts.]
For your Crop and Soil Management class you will be required to make at least ONE items for the celebration dinner. You will need to harvest, wash, and prepare this item. This dish can be simple or complex but should have significance to you personally.
Due: Thursday, August 4th 5:00PM
Grading: This is a participation grade. 0=didn't make a dish; 30=made a dish!
