What is an Ecosystem?
What is an Ecosystem?
An ecosystem includes all of the living things in an area. All of these living things interact with each other, along with their non-living environments.
In an ecosystem, the living things you might find are people, plants, animals, and organisms. The non-living things that are in an ecosystem are weather, sun, soil, and climate.
Ecosystems are different sizes. Some ecosystems are small, and some are very large. The elements that make up an ecosystem help them to survive and function as a unit of nature.
Everything in an ecosystem is one part of a community. Each member of the ecosystem community plays an important role in the ecosystem staying healthy. If one part of an ecosystem is damaged or disappears, it has an impact on everything else.
