Mountain Ecosystem

Mountain land provides a scattered and diverse array of habitats where a variety of plants and animals can be found.

Mountain ecosystems are unique because of their altitude. At higher altitudes, harsh environmental conditions are present, and only the treeless alpine vegetation survives.

Animals that live at this level of the ecosystem have thick fur coats that help to protect them from the cold.
