Library Policies

The number of books you will be allowed to check out depends on your grade level:

K-3: 2 books every week. (Kinder and TK will start with one book each week, to be left in the classroom, and each teacher will determine the class policy for taking books home.)

4-5: 3 books every week (but you may keep them up to two weeks without having to renew them)

6: 4 books every week* (but you may keep them up to two weeks without having to renew them)

*Once a sixth grade student has read 40 books in the year (with teacher confirmation), they will be granted unlimited checkouts from the library for the remainder of the year.

Did you know... Parents can also create library accounts and check out up to six books to take home for two weeks at a time!

Email me for more information about creating your own account!

What if my student loses or damages a book?

It happens to all of us at some point, and we can fix it!

If your student loses or damages a library book beyond repair, please let me know, either in person, or by email or phone call.

Each book has a replacement value, and you can either pay the dollar amount for the book, or

You can purchase an identical replacement (hardback, paperback, etc.) and bring it to the library.

There will be no punishment or penalty, and we can take care of it discreetly if your student is feeling nervous about the situation.

My goal is always to ensure every single student feels welcome and free to check out books from our library!
