Teacher Tools

Learning Management System: Each grade level team needs to select a common Learning Management System (LMS) to serve as the hub of information for your students. Teacher teams can select either Google Classroom or Seesaw as their LMS. Teachers will post information to support student learning such as video-conferencing invites, assignments, and feedback. Teachers will invite all of their students, families, grade level team members, support staff that work with your students, and principal to their LMS.

Video-conferencing: Teachers can select either Zoom or Google Hangouts/Meet to host video-conferencing with their students. Both are currently free for teachers. Teachers who will 'host' a meeting will need to sign up for an account. Participants do not need an account. Tutorials for Zoom are in the tutorial section of this site. Zoom offers the advantage of allowing "Zoom rooms" for small group break-outs. Zoom also lets the host end the meeting for all when the learning session is done (or if Zoombombing occurs). Google Hangouts/meet has the advantage that it is part of the Google Suite and we believe will remain free after school closures are over.

Making Videos: Teachers can use a variety of methods to create videos for student learning. QuickTime is already available on your Apple device and allows you to record longer videos. A how-to tutorial is available in the tutorial section of this site. Another option is Screencastify. The free version lets you make videos up to 4 minutes.

Optional, additional Tools: As teachers share other tools that may support you in online, remote learning they will be added below.
