• Chapter 7: Reading & Slides Presentation - Read pages 134-140, Elements of Design and pages 145-147, Principles of Design from Chapter 7 of the online textbook.
• Good and Bad Design: Compare & Contrast - Take a look at each of the images below. Which image do you believe does a better job of getting the message across, number 1 or number 2? In your response, compare and contrast the two designs. What makes one of these a good design, and the other not-so-good?
• Chapter 7 - Design & Layout Worksheet - Complete the worksheet attached below. You will need to download the worksheet and open it in Adobe Acrobat Reader in order to complete. Save the completed document and place it in your shared folder in Google Drive.

• Creating a Simple Ad Layout in Gravit Designer - The images and text you'll be using for this assignment will be provided. However, it's up to you to arrange the images and text in the layout to create a pleasing design. The instructions, as well as an example, are attached below. There's also a link to a folder in Google Drive which contains the images you'll use. Make sure you download these images to your computer.

• Display Ad Re-Design - Ceramic Tile Center - Even though graphic designers often have the opportunity to design a printed piece “from the ground up”, many times they’re given the task of RE-designing a printed piece to improve its appearance or visual appeal. Remember, not all design is good design! See the instructions for completing this activity. The original ad is included for reference.
