• Ch 12 - Color Management: Reading, Slides, Video - Color management in graphic communications describes the systematic approach to color conversions from input to output devices. The conversions can involve output to monitors, to digital color printers or presses, to plate material, or to mobile devices. The primary issue is getting the color transformation correct to ensure consistent and accurate color reproduction, regardless of the number or types of devices involved.
Computer monitors, digital proofing devices, and printing presses all render color differently. Documents viewed on-screen and output to different devices will have widely varying results. With an effective color management system, images can be scanned accurately, displayed on-screen correctly, and output as close to the original colors as possible.
