I have a diverse academic background, including degrees in Physics, Optics and Optometry, and an International PhD in Physical Sciences from the University of Granada, where I am now an Associate Professor in the Department of Optics. My research focuses on color measurement and optical techniques for biomaterials, with applications in dentistry and tissue engineering, in collaboration with national and international groups. I have published over 50 papers in scientific journals, contributed to several books, and presented at numerous conferences, earning over 6,500 citations, and an h-index of 31. I also serve as Secretary of SCAD, Section Editor for the Journal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry, and as a consultant for UPCERA and Ivoclar. Additionally, I’ve been recognized with awards like the VITA Award for Excellence in Research on Color and Appearance in Dentistry, and I actively evaluate research projects and quality assurance programs internationally.
