During the fall of my junior year, first semester, I read a book to the class I was observing as part of a lesson.
This was important to me because it was my first time teaching a lesson that I created in front of students. The lesson was on "Stellaluna" it was also around Halloween which made the whole story very fun for the studetns. I decided to read this book to the studetns because they were already learning about bats that week so it fit perfectly with their content and they were very excited to tell me the facts they had learned about bats that week.
Standard 7: Planning for Instruction
This artifact is evidence of growth in this standard because the book I picked on bats drew upon knowledge of content areas, as well as knowledge of learners .
Standard 10: Leadership and Collaboration
The whole lesson was great for me becasue it allowed colleagues, other school professionals, and community members to ensure learner growth, and to advance the profession.
Standard 5: Developing as a Professional
This articat proved growth to me because i was able to do a reflective self-study and professional learning, this really showed me what I could improve in the future in my own classroom.
