In my senior math class, we had a project where we picked one student that we wanted to work with and got to know more about.
This project helped me connect more with one student and really understand how they do math. I also learned more about the community that I was placed in for my senior year.
Standard 1: Learner Development
In my one-on-one community lesson project, I applied my understanding of how learners grow and develop by tailoring a math lesson to the specific needs and abilities of the student. Recognizing that learning patterns vary across cognitive, linguistic, social, and emotional areas, I incorporated examples from the student’s community to make the content relatable and engaging.
