Using Google Classroom as a Learning Management System

Google Classroom

Google Classroom is a popular Learning Management System for students in grades 3-12. This presentation was delivered as a workshop and that is why there isn't an actual presentation to view. The goal of this presentation for teachers to create their own Google Classroom so I walked teachers through the steps on the document to the left as they create. The document to the left is a reference sheet that covers how to work through the key components of Google Classroom.

  • Communication with parents/guardians through the use of Guardian Summaries.

  • Integrates smoothly with Google Workspace Tools (Docs, Slides, Forms, Drive, Meet, Jamboard, & YouTube)

Teaching Digitally

We were asked to develop a way to support schools as they worked through the Digital Teaching and Learning world. So, with Jane and Byron, we developed a website with FIVE Actions for Educators to support them as they build capacity for teaching digitally - check it out!

Google Supports for Families

Google for Education has put together an awesome playlist of support videos for Families and Guardians to help them better understand the digital tools we are using with students. It would be great to share specific videos are your introducing those tools to yours students.
