Provincial Assessment Details:

There is no Nova Scotia Reading and Writing  Assessment in grade 4. Students in Nova Scotia write Nova Scotia Assessments in grades 3, 6, and 8 and a provincial English exam in grade 10. For more information about provincial assessments and exams go to https://plans.ednet.ns.ca/.

Lessons Learned: For Teachers

The Nova Scotia Assessment: Reading and Writing in Grade 6: Lessons Learned Document is written for teachers of grade 4-6 students. It compiles the data from past RW6 assessments in easy-to-read language to help inform literacy instruction and is intended to support classroom teachers (4–6) and administrators at the school, regional, and provincial levels, in using the information gained from this assessment to inform next steps for literacy focus.
