About Me:
I am an educator with 22+ years experience. I have worked with students from grades Primary to 12. As well I have taught Science, Early Literacy, Resource, Sociology 12, African Canadian Studies 11, Mi'Kmaw Studies 10/11, and participated in School Leadership and School Improvement Planning. I have worked as a School Counsellor at several schools including High Schools and Elementary Schools.
I am committed to Equity in Education. For the last 17 years I have organized the Gender and Sexuality Alliances at my schools as well as working with the HRSB/HRCE on the RCH (Race Relations and Cross Cultural Understanding Policies) as a member of the Lead Team as well as a School Liaison. This is my 23rd year with the HRCE.
In addition to my Undergraduate training I hold three Masters of Education Degrees - one in Educational Psychology, one in Literacy and Language and another in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I have additional training in Post Traumatic Stress from McGill University. I am a Certified Canadian Counsellor and Counselling Supervisor from the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association and a Registered Counselling Therapist with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists.
