Anti-Racist Education/

CRP

It is important for us to see the context of the lives around us. I have included some videos, activities and learning materials for adults and children alike. Please feel free to use as you see fit. Some are not intended for children.

If you feel like you want to talk about racism/anti-racism I will always listen and I will never judge. I have lots of experience, personal and professional - and I am here to listen.

Teaching Kids News - Black Lives Matter

How Diverse is Your Universe - Can be done with drawing boxes on paper with markers as a solitary activity. This is more of an adult activity.

Beneath the Clouds of the Promised Land Books 1 & 2 (These are for adults and can give you a great history of the African Canadian experience. I can tell you how to get these and can arrange a copy for lending.)

Directory of African Nova Scotian Organizations

Up Home - Shauntay Grant - A picture book showing the warmth and community of Preston, NS.

Maxine Tynes was an amazing poet from NS - any of her collected poems would be wonderful. They are again an adult read.

Anti-Racist Mental Health and Allyship JACK.ORG - Jack.org has a strong focus on mental health. This organization is international but has a strong Canadian focus.
