NSSAFFL Operation Manual

As a result of the present COVID 19 situation in Nova Scotia, the Board of Governors in consultation with the Chief Medical Officer of Health, Department of Education and Early Childhood Development, Department of Communities, Culture and Heritage and Sport Nova Scotia have determined that High School Football (12v12) will not be possible this fall. The number of participants required to safely have football greatly exceeds the present number allowed for groups not social distancing. Dr. Strang has indicated the number required for football will not be achievable this fall.

In response, the NSSAF Football League has requested that football be deferred until the spring season. The Board of Governors has agreed to review the provincial parameters in February 2021 to make a final decision regarding the 2020-2021 season.

In lieu of the fall season, the NSSAF will allow Football Schools to practice from September 14-October 9, 2020. During this time of skill development football programs must follow safety guidelines provided by the Government of Nova Scotia

The NSSAF will continue to update member schools as additional information becomes available.
