One of the most important, and least publicized, issues facing the human species is the toxic threat to the male reproductive system. The Disappearing Male takes a close and disturbing look at what many doctors and researchers now suspect is the cause: a class of common chemicals found in everything from shampoo, sunglasses, meat and dairy products, carpet, cosmetics and baby bottles. Known as “hormone mimicking” or “endocrine disrupting” chemicals, they may be starting to damage the most basic building blocks of human reproduction.

What splits sister chromatids—but doesn't change chromosome number? That’s Meiosis II, the second round of division that finalizes gamete formation.
In this video, we break down the equational division of Meiosis II. You’ll learn how it differs from Meiosis I, why it’s similar to mitosis, and how it creates four unique haploid cells—each vital for genetic diversity and reproduction.
