  • 10 courses in total must be used, 9 must be Academic

  • Minimum of 5 grade 12 level courses.

    • 2 mandatory courses to include are an English 12, and a Global 12

      • English 12 / English Communications 12 / English 12 IB

      • Global Geography 12 / Global History 12

  • 5 other courses at the grade 11 or 12 level taken in any school year

    • Maximum of 1 open level course can be included

  • If a student has failure(s) on the transcript

    • they can receive scholarship money

    • but cannot be included on Highest Honours/Honours/Distinction lists



*Student are ranked according to the above BOARD policy, but honours is calculated with the school policy listed below. They are not calculated using the same formula.

HONOURS WITH DISTINCTION: 90 AVERAGE (In all courses 10 - 12 with no failing grade in any course.)

HONOURS: 80 AVERAGE (In all courses 10 - 12 with no failing grade in any course.)


MERIT: 70 AVERAGE (In all courses 10 - 12 with no failing grade in any course.)
