Notable Student Achievements

 We want to extend a HUGE congratulations to one of our Grade 12 students, Lucas Hilden, who has been awarded the prestigious Schulich Leader Scholarship 2023, valued at $120,000.  This highly coveted National STEM scholarship is awarded to only 100 graduating high school students in Canada each year.  

Schulich leaders must demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, creativity, and charisma, and plan to study a STEM program at one of Schulich’s partner universities.  Additionally, winners must possess an entrepreneurial mindset and intend to pursue a career in technology, engineering, entrepreneurship and business enterprise, or applied scientific research.  

Lucas’ initiative in pursuing several entrepreneurial ventures throughout his high school years, as well as his ingenuity to develop a facial recognition device for Alzheimer’s patients - a project that won him gold at the Canada-Wide Science Fair -, are some of the accomplishments that made Lucas a strong candidate for the Schulich.  Lucas plans to attend the University of Toronto in the Fall to begin his post-secondary studies in engineering.
