MyBlueprint: Career and Self-Exploration

Are you interested in learning more about who you are as a learner and as a person, and how that may relate to your future occupation? If so, check out myBlueprint!

myBlueprint is an on-line tool offered to all students Avon View High School. It has many features including an option for creating, maintaining and developing a portfolio. As well, myBlueprint offers information to students in the following categories:

Who Am I? : There are 5 surveys you can take to better learn about yourself. The surveys are: Learning Styles, Personality, Interests, Knowledge, and Motivations. As well, once these surveys are completed, there is a Compatibility Survey to find out which occupations may be your perfect match.  The best part? Your results are automatically saved and can be used for discussions with your school counsellor in helping to figuring what might, or might not, be a good occupation/career fit for you!

High School: This is a tool where you can store your three (3) year plan for courses you would like to take or have taken in Grades 10, 11 and 12. What a great way to review your credits and what is needed to obtain a High School Diploma! *PLEASE confirm with your school counselor for accuracy to ensure you meet all requirements for NS graduation eligibility. (It’s not just having 18 credits, it’s having 18 of the RIGHT credits!)

Post-Secondary: This section provides you with information about Apprenticeship Programs, as well as College and University Programs. When looking up information about post-secondary institutions and admission requirements, it is always important to confirm admission requirements through the specific school’s website or admission officers. Admission requirements can and often do, change from year to year. We cannot guarantee that all information on myBlueprint has been updated and accurate, but individual school websites do provide this. myBlueprint is a good starting point.

Work: If at any time you are considering entering the world of work, this section has some great features. You can access information on Occupations and Job Trends. You can create a Resume and Cover Letter; templates are included! There is also a job search feature so you can view some of the Job Postings which are currently advertised online.

Money: A great resource for learning about learning creating a Budget and managing your Finances!
