Nursing Education LPN - ADN Progression  

Qualifying entrance exam & petition requirement for the Nursing Progression program for current licensed LPNs.

What are the content areas for the exam?  What is required to be successful?

The specific exam is called (HESI) LPN-ADN Entrance exam and contains 75 questions related to the LPN practice in which you have two hours to complete.

February Petition Application Window (PAW) to qualify for August RN  program start date
September Petition  Application Window (PAW) to qualify for January RN program start date

You need a score of 900 or greater in order to qualify for the program. If you achieve the score of 900 or greater, you do not need to retake.  Scores are automatically sent to MATC and saved in the system and can be used for later petition windows. Scores are available immediately after the completion of the exam, but your score report will be available in 24 - 48 hours in your Evolve account. 

The PN Comprehensive HESI exam is also a substitute qualifier for the program. This is the final exam you took for MATC's PN Program. Please contact Bouazza  El Ouahbi or your PN instructor to ensure your score gets entered into the system. The score must be 900 or greater. No scores less than 900 are recorded in our system.

To create an account and pay for the LPN Progression exam go to Evolve.Elsevier.com and follow below 10 step image instructions.  If you are retaking the exam log into your account & skip to step # 2.1

Student Instructions:  Please follow these simple steps to register and pay through Evolve account for On-Site Testing at MATC

1. Create and Evolve account:  

1.1  Go to Evolve.elsevier.com 

1.2  Click “I’m a student” 

1.3  Under HESI Secured Exam Box select, “Register for Results and Remediation”

1.4  Click “Register” 

1.5  Click “Proceed to Checkout/Redeem” 

1.6  Complete all fields>Continue 

1.7  Click “Submit” 

   NOTE: Remember your username and password. To find Username: Go to Account at top right>Select Account Settings 

2. Make your HESI HP-A2 Payment 

2.1  Go to HESI Assessment Student Access 

2.2  Select “Payments” 

2.3  Enter Payment ID>Search 

2.4  Complete the payment fields 


After you complete HESI HP-A2 Payment, You’ll receive a HESI eCommerce Student Payment Notification E-mail from your Evolve account. 

After payment confirmation, a proof of payment statement will be displayed and stored in your account under Payment History

Pay and Register for Remote Proctor Testing with MeaZure Learning  

MATC Healthcare Pathway is excited to announce our new Remote Proctor partnership with MeaZure Learning!
A live proctor will assist students with check-in and any technical issues prior to the exam and also assist if a technical issue (i.e. disconnection) arises during the exam. 


Remote Proctor Exam Cost is $81. Subject to Change   


Exams are available to schedule through May and August 1st - September 30th.  Exams not available in June or July.

Before you register for a Remote Exam make sure you have the proper technical requirements and knowledge of expectationsPlease read this PDF. 


Follow this link for instructions on how to create an account through Evolve and ProctorU (MeaZured Learning).  When you completed your Schedule an Exam you will be prompted to complete payment through ProctorU (MeaZured Learning).  The cost is $81.00.  Don't forget to download the ProctorU extension.

To find your exam you will need the following information:


The MATC-LPN-ADN-FA2024-Version-1 and MATC- LPN-ADN-FA2024-Version-2 exams have been activated in the ProctorU scheduling system. The exam is now available for test takers to begin scheduling their reservations.


The exam will be manually forced closed by MATC in order for it to score.  A follow up email will be sent to you within two business days for completion.

What are the some of the study resources?

Do you offer Special Accommodation for the exam?

PLEASE NOTE:  Do not schedule and pay for your remote exam in advance.  Accomodations need to be arranged prior to scheduling.

Special testing accommodations for students who have a documented disability are available through Student Accommodation Services.

To apply for accommodations, you must call or email Heather Lorbiecki (414-297-6962, 414-297-6750, or accommodationservices@matc.edu) at least 2 weeks before the exam date.

Follow below procedure:

■ Complete a Test Accommodation Request Form and submit Documentation of Disability (if it is not already on file) to Student Accommodation Services

■ Once the above information is submitted, MATC Student Accommodations will make arrangements for you to receive your approved accommodations on your exam date.

What do I bring on the day of the exam?

Please remember your assigned Evolve username(not email) and password and bring a photo ID 

No phones, calculators or other electronics are allowed during the exam.  If a short restroom break is permitted during the exam,  students cannot bring any items with them and are not permitted to leave the building.   

You are allotted two hours for the exam and can leave when finished

What if I need to retake the exam?

The retake policy  of 30 days is recommended  to ensure that you remediate and make the necessary changes to become successful. Students are allowed three lifetime attempts and must pay for each exam attempt. The highest score is kept. Evolve provides remediation after the proctor closes the exam and uploads the results.

Refunds and Rescheduling

For On-site purchase, the LPN Progression exam is available for refund or *transferring within 90 days of purchase.  Their is a non refundable $4 Ecommerce Fee.  Please download this refund form and complete the top two sections only (Student and Billing Information) and send the form to Mr. Bouazza el ouahbi at elouahbb@matc.edu

The Exam payment codes are specific for each petitioning window (semester) and can be used for any exam during the window.

 If you just want to change your seat reservation contact Bouazza. The Exam payment codes are specific for each petitioning window and can be used for any exam during the window.  New codes are issued each semester and may not transfer.
