Directions for IDEAS Completion:

Vocabulary for Gifted classes are known as IDEAS.

    1. I is for identity. Under the I section of the boxes, you will put the word used for that box. For example: Checks & Balances

    2. D is for definition. In the D section, define the word listed in section I.

    3. E is for example. In the E section, give a detailed example, specific details, evidence, or apply the word to a specific situation.

    4. A is for animation. In the A section, draw a picture of the key term in action; a visual cue. Color each image will be extra credit, but all images must be colored to get the extra credit. Pictures may be printed from the internet, but all printed pictures must fit the size of the "A" box and be in color. There will not be any extra credit for printed pictures and printed pictures in black and white will only be given half-credit.

    5. S is for sentence. In the S section, use the word in a complete sentence as it relates to the information in the unit. Make sure to underline or highlight where you use the word.

You may print a copy of the IDEAS template to the right to fill in as you complete the vocabulary for each unit, or draw the boxes on a sheet of notebook paper and fill in. Please use college-ruled notebook paper to draw your boxes if you are using that method.

Pictures may be printed from the internet, but all printed pictures must fit the size of the "A" box. There will not be any extra credit for printed pictures.

If you are printing out the template, try to printed on each side of the paper to conserve paper. You will also need to t hole punch your paper to fit in your notebook.
