19/3/2024 - Increase in School Meal Prices from Monday 15 April
We have received the following notification regarding an increase in School Meal prices upon the return from the Easter Break. This only affects P6 and P7 pupils.
In line with the increase to charges that was approved by Members at the 2024-2025 Council budget meeting on Thursday 29th February 2024, the cost of a traditional school meal for the new financial year, effective from Monday 15th April is as follows:-
Primary School Meals – Increase from £2.30 to £2.40 per 2 course meal – this will apply to
pupils in P6 & P7 until the full roll out of universal free school meals is
agreed by the Scottish Government.
Secondary School Meals - Increase from £2.55 to £2.65 per 2 course meal
Adult Meals - Increase from £4.00 to £4.20 per 2 course meal
18/3/2024 Highland Heros Primary School of the Year Finalists
We would like to thank our Nominator(s) for the Highland Heros Primary School of the Year and we attending the event at the Drummosie Hotel last Friday night. Unfortunately we did not win, congratulations to Merkinch Primary School but we felt like winners just be invited to the event. A fantastic time was had by all.
Primary 1 enrolment - If your child will be five years of age on or before 28 February 2025, they are eligible to enrol for Primary 1.
If you wish to enrol your child for Primary 1, please do so during enrolment week.
Enrolment week for Primary 1 pupils will take place from Monday 29 January to Friday 2 February 2024.
14/12/23 - Many thanks to all the Parents and Local residents that came along and supported our Cake & Craft Sale on Tuesday raising money for MFR cash for kids. We managed to raise £500 - which is enough to buy Christmas Presents for 10 children this year.
We are very proud of you all.

13/11/2023 - Following our Online Safety Session last week, please find details about the Safer Schools App below.
The Safer Schools App is a way in which families can access up-to-date guidance on staying safe both on and offline. The app can be downloaded on android and apple through searching ‘Safer Schools’ in the app store. Then select ‘Balnain Primary’ from the dropdown menu and enter the code 7440.

Rights Respecting Schools - GOLD AWARD

We have been advised that The Confectionery scheme is being closed by Terracycle, so we are asking for any sweet wrappers to sent into the school by this Friday 10/11/23 so I can arrange delivery before the scheme closure date.
