Our students at Glenealy School are growing up in an ever more digital society. At school, we use technology in a purposeful and integrated way to ensure that our students develop the attributes and skills that they will need to be actively, positively and successfully engaged in the digital world. We do this by embedding technology in a purposeful manner in the learning experiences across the taught curriculum.
We also explore ways to use technology to enhance the learning of our students: connecting families to the classroom; being creative and connecting with a global audience; thinking computationally as well as capturing feedback and encouraging reflection.
At Glenealy we have a mixture of iPads, Chromebooks and MacBooks for the children to use maintaining a ratio of approximately 1:1. We have also invested in robotics, as well as micro:bit computers and components for designing and making.
We have a range of subscriptions for quality online programs and apps, including Seesaw, Encyclopedia Britannica Online, RazKids and MyMaths. As children go up the school, they become increasingly confident using the Google Apps for Education.
