Meet Mrs. Swonger! She received her Bachelor's of Arts in Secondary Education/English in 2000 and her Master's of Science in Special Education in 2005, both from the University of Saint Francis. She had some very interesting teaching experiences that include Crossroads residential facility for children and teenagers, emotional disabilities teacher/case manager for a day treatment education program at Northeastern Center, special education coordinator at the Indiana Department of Corrections, and 12 years at East Noble High School prior to coming to Garrett. While in high school, she was a member of Key Club and was the faculty advisor at East Noble for 11 years. Since coming to GHS, she has started a new Key Club chapter here. She is also the National Honor Society faculty advisor at GHS. She got married in 2005, just a week after her graduate school graduation, to her husband Shilo, who was born and has lived his whole life in Garrett. She has a son that was born in 2007 and has gone to GKB schools since kindergarten. Garrett has been her home since 2001, and she is so happy to finally be teaching in the same community where she lives!
