Computational thinking (CT) can be a scary sounding term, but it can also be described simply as logical problem solving and doesn't even require the use of a computer. It is a proven way of problem solving that makes explicit CT concepts that we use on a daily basis. Over the last ten years computational thinking has been embedded into most OECD curriculum and in 2017 it was flagged by the MOE that all New Zealand schools were expected to include computational thinking across all curriculum areas from year one through to year ten. In 2018 the Education Review Office did an initial review of where schools were at with the roll out of the new Digital technologies/Hangarau matihiko curriculum, then earlier this year they released the "Ready, set, go" document. You can read the "Ready, set, go" document to get an idea of where your school is at, and if you require help getting to the next step get in touch - robbiec@gisboyshigh.net
