Dr. Evan Lee is in his 35th year in Music Education and in his fifth year at Grand Island Public Schools, currently serving as Director of Bands at Grand Island Senior High. Prior to this position he served as Curriculum Coordinator of Fine Arts and Social Studies for the district of Grand Island Public Schools. Before moving to Grand Island Dr. Lee served as Director of Bands at Omaha Central High School and Norris Public Schools in Nebraska.
Dr. Lee holds both Masters (2000) and Doctorate (2007) degrees from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln and Bachelor in Fine Arts degree (1989) from Wayne State College in Wayne, Nebraska.
Dr. Lee recently completed serving as the North Central representative on the NAfME Council of Program Leaders. He has also served as President for the Nebraska Music Education Association (NMEA), as a regional chairperson for the NAfME Guitar Council and as NMEA Auditions Chair. He is an active member of The National Association for Music Education (NAfME), the Nebraska Music Education Association (NMEA), and the Nebraska Bandmasters Association (NSBA).
In his spare time Dr. Lee arranges music and writes marching drill for local high schools. He also is an active musician, playing in several area and regional groups.
Mr. Lienemann has been teaching music since 2007. He is currently the Orchestra and Assistant Band Director at Grand Island Senior High. Previously, he has taught at Barr Middle School, in Omaha, UMÓⁿHOⁿ Nation, Ord Public Schools, and Daniel J. Gross Catholic High School.
Mr. Lienemann holds Bachelor of Music Degrees (2007) in Music Technology and Education from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and a Master of Music (2013) degree in Music Education from East Texas A&M University. He is an active member of The National Association for Music Education (NAfME), the Nebraska Music Education Association (NMEA), the Nebraska Bandmasters Association (NSBA), and the American String Teachers Association (ASTA).
Mr. Lienemann is an active French Horn player with the Hastings and Kearney Symphony Orchestras, the Kearney Municipal Band, and plays local gigs on French horn and trumpet. He has performed internationally with collegiate groups including a performance Point du Hoc for the 60th anniversary of D-Day, and nationally at Carnegie Hall, Texas Music Educators Association Conference, College Band Directors Southwest Regional Conference, KKY/TBS National Intercollegiate Honor Band.
Mr. Lienemann resides in Hastings near his family's farms.
