Course Description:
1 Semester 0.5 credit Fall Semester Only Grades 9-12
This course will explore a wide variety of outdoors topics, especially those that have a close association with Oconto County. We will learn about cutting edge environmental topics in the areas of wildlife biology, conservation, aquaculture, upland game, reptiles, waterfowl, and many others. In this course students will explore topics related to managing and utilizing forests, waterways, and other wildlife habitat. Activities may include taxidermy, fish identification, making lures, identifying wildlife animals and tracks, and developing wildlife, forest, and waterway management plans. Guest speakers, labs, and field trips, will be utilized if possible to make important connections with material taught in the classroom.
