Coaching Experience: My experience includes coaching at the high school, sand, collegiate and coaching juniors internationally in Vienna, Austria. However, by far my favorite experiences are coaching at the junior high level as I have continued to do for over 15 years.
Playing Experience: As a player, I earned a scholarship attending Lake Superior State University (MI) playing setter, outside hitter and libero. I was a four year starter, two year captain, and two year MVP. I broke the school record in digs and was named Libero of the Year for the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Conference. I was also ranked in the NCAA’s Top 25 for digs, two years in a row. Currently, I play both indoor and beach volleyball competitively and I am part of the Association of Volleyball Professionals (AVP). I love to share my passion for the game with others.
Lilly Stover knows a thing or two about being a Rattler as she once was a student here herself. She actually was one of Coach James' volleyball players and then she came back to DRJHS to teach 7th grade social studies and coach. Her passion for the game is evident from the first time you meet her.
Lilly has coached club ball, assisted at DRJHS with both boys and girls volleyball and decided to take on the role as the 7th grade head coach. Her patience with the girls and her mentorship is invaluable and we are so happy to have her part of the coaching staff.
Hello. I have been coaching Volleyball at DRJHS for over 8 years now.
I started playing volleyball as a Freshman at a small Southern Utah school over 25 year ago, and was able to play all through my high school years. Since then, I have been involved one way or another with volleyball, either playing with women my own age or coaching young girls from the ages of 10-14.
I have enjoyed studying and improving on skills and increase my knowledge of the game and how it has evolved.
For the past 4 years, I have coached the 12-14 yr olds for the East Side Blaze club, and loved that experience. For the past 7 years, I have been my daughter's biggest fan, following her teams around and learning the art of being a parent bench coach. ;) I know, It's really tough and can be a challenge to be an observing parent.
Through all of this, I have learned that time, experience, positive attitude, solid basic technique and fun makes for great volleyball. I am excited to be back and help these young girls learn how to work as a team, practice solid basic skills, improve their technique and develop a love for this game that can last their lifetime.

I always get questions about where athletes should play volleyball in the off-season. While there are many different clubs out there- the questions you should ask as an athlete or parent are:
1) How many athletes are on a team?
2) How experienced are the coaches?
3) How much? Yes, for most of us cost is a real factor.
My theory for club ball is if you are PAYING than your daughter should be PLAYING. Anything short of this, in my opinion, is unacceptable. The more touches your athlete can have on the ball will increase the potential to increase their talents.
