"The dream begins, most of time, with a teacher who believes in you, who tugs, pushes, and leads you on to the next plateau, sometimes poking you with a sharp stick called truth."~Dan Rather
I have been blessed with a wonderful husband and a beautiful family, my little girl Zoe and my little man Zayden. I love being able to spend quality time traveling around the world with them! I have been to over 60 different countries and I look forward to discovering more each year! I love to bring these experiences into my classroom and share with my kiddos about different cultures around the world. You can follow Rosie (the little bear in the first picture) on Instagram @rosiearoundtheworld5 on her adventures.
I enjoy many other activities; my favorites include, volleyball, hiking, snowboarding, kayaking and swimming. I also enjoy watching movies (mostly eating the popcorn), reading books, and spending time with family, friends and my goldendoodle Journey...and yes, I do miss my snow!
My Teaching Experience: I completed my student teaching in Brisbane, Australia. After teaching abroad, I taught in Grand Rapids, Michigan for a year. During that year, I was able to work with special education students, at-risk students, and a variety of grade levels and subjects. This experience gave me the opportunity to grow and learn while also searching for the right school district to call home.
I found that special school district in Gilbert, Arizona. I have been at DRJHS since 2006 and in those years I have taught boys and girls physical education, 8th grade regular and honors social studies and AVID. I also received my Masters degree from ASU. I currently coach 8th grade girls volleyball for the DRJHS and I also take kiddos around the world as our Roaming Rattlers International Trip Coordinator. My greatest achievement thus far is becoming a National Board Certified teacher NBCT. I absolutely LOVE what I do- THIS IS WHERE RATTLERS REIGN.
