If you competed in round 2 of the geography bee you may have also qualified for regionals in Chandler Arizona on March 29th.
Look below for details to go the the next round. Participation in the next rounds is voluntary and is not coordinated through Desert Ridge Junior High. I would, however, love for you to keep me in the loop in your geography journey if you decide to continue your competition to the next levels. Good luck!!

If you are invited to the school geography bee that means you were one of the top performers in your social studies class! Way to go! You might be a little nervous or anxious to participate- but don't discredit your worthiness to join the bee. Embrace the fact that you might have a talent for learning about our world- and that is pretty awesome! Now it is time to encourage the growing of your brain about cultures, landscapes, people and places around you! Find joy in your journey and do your best- if you make a mistake it is OK- at least you tried!!
There are 3 Levels of Competition
The International Geography bee includes three levels of competition; school, regional, and national.
School Competition: There are two rounds. If you qualify for the first round you will take the qualifying test in your social studies class to make it to round two.
Regional Competition on chrome book in library: The top students from Round 2 will qualify to go to the regional competition. It is possible to qualify for Regionals but not be asked to Round 3 of the school competition. DRJHS will then conduct the live oral final GeoBee round and name a school champion. Students who qualify, including the school champion will represent Desert Ridge Junior High at the Regional Competition. Regional Finals (there are both in-person and online Regional Finals tournaments available. Parents pay for and accompany their children to Regionals and Nationals.
National Competition: The top candidates are invited to the National Championships this June in Orlando.
