Welcome to the Amanecer Preschool Program at Towne Meadows!

I am sure that you have many questions about our school year.

I have planned lots of fun activities for our school year. I am very excited and looking forward to a fantastic year.

The Amanecer Preschool strives to offer children an opportunity to develop in an environment planned with their language, social/emotional, physical and cognitive needs in mind. The program provides experiences to meet the needs of all attending Preschoolers. Children who need special services have an opportunity to interact with children who are developing typically, giving them role models to follow. Planned creative experiences provide an environment which:

*encourages self esteem

*develops creativity and an interest and joy in learning

*increases receptive/expressive language skills

*develops fine and gross motor skills

*introduces pre-academic skills

*encourages appropriate interactions with other children

and adults

*teaches problem-solving and decision-making skills

During our Preschool day, Ms. Jen (Jen Wolfe), Preschool Paraprofessional and Mrs. Barb Ackerman, Preschool Teacher are working and playing throughout the day with our Preschool friends. Some days, your child will also work and play with our therapists (Speech/Language Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist and Vision Specialist).

My most important goal for all of the children is to promote a love of school and learning. We will be learning many things in school through the art of PLAY. While the children are playing, they are learning letters, numbers, colors, shapes, socialization, beginning literacy skills and other pre-academic and academic concepts and skills. They will be playing games and enjoying teacher and child-directed activities.

We’re glad you’re part of our Preschool family!
