Preschool Afternoon Class Schedule

11:30 AM - 2:00 PM

*All times are flexible depending on children’s needs/interests, temperatures/weather conditions, etc.

*Library: last Thursday of the month (morning & afternoon classes)

11:30 - 12:10 Arrival/Fine Motor/Table Top Activities

Students engage in fine motor and sensory activities, play dough, blocks, puzzles, writing, coloring & manipulatives.

12:10 - 12:30 Opening Circle/Welcome

Students engage in conversation, share experiences of their home life and talk about our Preschool day.

12:30 - 12:45 Small Group Instruction

Students engage in learning activities and materials with letters, letter sounds, numbers, colors, shapes and concept development.

12:45 - 1:05 Outside Learning

Students engage in gross motor activities, socialization, cooperation,group games, and sensory play.

1:05 - 1:15 Snack

Students requesting items, self-help skills, counting, 1 to 1 correspondence, following directions, manners, responsibility, reinforcement of vocabulary and themed concepts.

1:15 - 1:25 Story Time

Students practice answering and asking questions, making predictions, and relating stories to personal experience. Building literacy, letter and sound recognition, socialization, and targeted individualized instruction.

1:25 - 2:00 Centers

2:00 Dismissal
