Answer a few questions and O*NET will provide you with a list of careers recommendations based on your interests and skills. It will also provide you with information about those careers such as level of schooling needed and salary averages.
Answer questions about your interests and Career One Stop will provide a list of careers that you may be interested in based on your answers.
Watch students that have traveled across the nation to talk to their heroes and understand their college/career decisions.
Texas OnCourse can help you find high school courses you actually like and align with your career interests in addition to those you need to take in order to graduate.

Texas Reality Check is a terrific tool to help students and parents see how much living expenses will cost, and how much money a person will need to earn to pay for those expenses.
GISD students have access to Eduthings through their school account (Classlink). This program allows students to take an Interest Profiler assessment to determine which careers match their interests. It also provides a list of Programs of Study/courses students should take in high school based on those careers.
The 2025-2026 Secondary Course Guide provides a complete list of the classes offered at GISD middle and high schools. In addition to academic, fine art, and physical education classes, the Secondary Course Guide provides information about career related courses and Endorsement Pathways, as well as course requirements.
