Course Selections
Course Selection Guidelines
During the spring semester, students will discuss course options for the following school year with parents, teachers, and their school counselor. In January, school counselors will present information on the course selection process. Course selection sheets are typically due in February. Students will have the opportunity to make changes to the courses they previously selected during Course Verifications in April. After this period, students must wait until the first 5 days of school to make any final changes to their schedule.

Middle School Advising Guide
The Georgetown ISD Middle School Advising Guide provides information intended to support students as they plan for middle school and beyond. The information and format found within this document is meant to support advising conversations and planning. However, in accordance with EIC Local Policy, the GISD District course Guide should be deferred to as the primary document should questions arise regarding rank GPA, course prerequisites, course descriptions, etc.

Schedule Change Guidelines
In addition to meeting with the counselors through the course selection process, we highly encourage students, families, and teachers to have discussions about course options before submitting course selection sheets. Benold Middle School follows the GISD Secondary School Schedule Change Guidelines found below.
