The course intends on introducing students to the basics of international law such as the origins, the principles, history and the main concepts which then helps build up the rest of the course that dives into the legal sources of international law and how it is applied in real life cases and the debates surrounding it. The course highlighted the important key aspects of international law which are international human rights law, international humanitarian law and international criminal law. International law is essential in the understanding of international politics and international relations and thus how multiple actors play a role within practicing law in shaping the global order.
