The following resources are designed to help you if you choose a question which asks you to describe a place, person or event.
In the exam you should:
* Spend about 45 minutes on this section.
* Spend 5 minutes planning and then sequencing your ideas. A good way to do this is to do a simple mind map of what you are going to include in each paragraph and then number them.
* Aim to write about two sides in your answer booklet , focus on quality and not quantity.
* Highlight or underline the keywords in the question and make sure that your answer focuses on them.
* If the question has two parts ensure you cover both of them in your answer.
* Make sure you understand all the techniques featured in this booklet and use them in your writing, they will gain you more marks.
* You must leave time to proofread your work; the examiner will be impressed if you have taken the time to improve your answer.
* You are being marked on your spelling, punctuation and paragraphing so make sure you leave time to check all of them carefully.
