Year 7 - Ancient Greece
The students in Year 7 will spend five days off timetable creating a puppet show which will inform their peers about an aspect of Ancient Greece.
This is a collaborative project in conjunction with the Arts and Individuals and Societies departments.
Overview of the Project
The Year 7 students will be working in small teams to inform their peers about an aspect of Ancient Greece. They will be asked to explore areas that could include myths and legends, the Olympics, women in Ancient Greece, important battles etc. The students will hone their research skills, explore how to create a story board, design and make puppets, discover how to write a script and share their new knowledge by learning how to create a Google Site.
You will be given time to rehearse and finalise everything before you record your puppet show.
To discover what your child(ren) is doing during the collapsed week please explore their self created websites.
At certain times in the week you will play board games. Click on the link to find out what they are and how they link to our project.
As part of the week you will be taken to the Grand Saconnex sports ground to take part in a mini-Olympics.
After you have experienced all the different stages for this task you will be asked to complete a reflection.
While we are focusing primarily on Ancient Greece it is also good to discover what else was happening during this time.
