A few years ago, when Google Chrome OS was introduced, it was design for computer to be cheap or low cost so it will be more affordable for Students.
Lately, I think Google is changing it's direction, they are slowly making Chrome OS more and more powerful and also integrating Android OS into it's system. Current Chrome OS can already run Google Play Store, and one can install Apps design for Android. However, there are still a lot of incompatibility and this will still take awhile before it will be fully compatible.
Initially for Students, now Chrome OS can be use for other purpose or soon for business.
