1. Introduction: do a physical activity, introduce theme, give a brief “peek” at what the book is about
2. Read the Book: make sure you state the title, author and/or illustrator, be familiar with the book, use read aloud techniques, think about how you will use new words, concepts and rhyming; read the book without stopping too much for questions
3. Review the Book: ask open ended questions, go back and look at pictures and talk about them
4. Storysharing Activity: play a short game, act out the story, or make something related to the book
5. Closing: do/say something that draws the children back to the theme and brings the story session to a close, this could be something that they can take and bridge to the home environment
