Summary: The presentation is an overview of commonly used NComputing hardware and software, with an Introduction to PCmerge Academy (PCMA). The overview covers fundamentals, operations, technical issues & troubleshooting, to benefit the ease-of-use and efficiency of virtual labs. The intro to PCMA is a formal introduction to our tech-education, course-based services for various technical skills, such as computer-build and virtual networking.

Biography: T.J. Deleon Guerrero is the head virtual technician at PCmerge and has worked on projects regarding virtual network solutions in many libraries and classrooms. T.J. started working in high school part-time after classes since Sophomore year and, after developing entrepreneurial traits, went straight into the work field after graduation. There he found passions for other technical disciplines including web-design, marketing, pod-casting, blogging, photography, and videography.

They will learn (1) how to use Google Classroom from the student and teacher point of view; (2) how Google Classroom can benefit students and teachers and what support they can provide; and (3) how to set up and manage GDOE student email accounts.

Biography: US Navy CWO5 retired. AAS in Accounting, BAS in Human Resources Management, MS in Management, M.Ed. Administration and Supervision. Computer Science Teacher for 8 years at FBLG Middle School. Presently, Librarian for 2 years at As Tumbo Middle School.

Summary: This brief presentation introduces what a hashtag is and how to use it in social media. Participants can try using it in Instagram and see how a hashtag can connect the #GDOEschoollibrarians.

Biography: Thea Cortez is a 2nd-year school librarian at Adacao Elementary School. Prior to that, she was a classroom teacher at Price Elementary School and Adacao Elementary School for eight and half years. Jovita Perez Alcantara is the school librarian for Southern High School. She was also the school guidance counselor before becoming the school librarian.

Fun fact: Jovita was the school counselor when Thea was a student at Southern High School. :)
