the whole of the fashion industry contributest to roughly 10 percent of the worlds global pollution and climate change. the fashion industry depletes the world of resources and is in fact  very wasteful of this precious resrouces. in addition, the industry also depletes the world of water and energy. 

the process of upcycling is a process in which a person takes an unused garment and "upcycles" it to create something new.   I have implemented this into one of the garments I have created for the project. by using a thrifted piece of clothing for the base of my garment I have successfully saved some of the environment.
