Writing in Science: Claim - Evidence - Reasoning (CER)

This week, we are focusing on CER (Claim, Evidence, Reasoning), including how to scaffold the process of constructing explanations. Students at every grade level will communicate their science understanding through writing a CER, either with their teacher, in small groups, or independently. 

GCISD has set specific goals for each grade level to ensure the developmentally appropriate use of CER. Please review these goals and additional support materials in the slides and videos below.
