Interactive Word Walls: A Key Component of our GCISD Curriculum

Our McGraw Hill Texas Science materials incorporate the work of Dr. Julie Jackson, an associate professor of science education at Texas State University. Her research focuses on integrating literacy and science, vocabulary development, and supporting ELL students.

Dr. Jackson developed a 5-step process for creating and using interactive word walls. Through her partnership with McGraw Hill, Steps 1-3 are already built into our instructional materials for teachers to use.
