Unit: Introduction to Skills, Roles, & Strategies

Introduction: This course provides information regarding exercise and the effects of exercise on the body. It will cover basic and complex movement skills and how to apply them in various games, sports, and performances. California and International Baccalaureate Standards for Physical and Health Education will be the focus of the course unit. 

Statement of Inquiry: Teams develop Identities and Relationships through Interactions and Adaptations.

Global Context / Exploration: Identities and Relationships / Teams.

Formative Tasks: 

• COACH - Students will pick a drill and teach it to their class.

• REFEREE - Students will reflect on the week or read an article and type 100 words each week.

• STATISTICIAN - Students will create a Google Sheet with game performance.

• PHOTOGRAPHER - Students will share ~20-25 photos of their classmates playing.

• HIGHLIGHT VIDEO - Students will create a 30-second video and share it with their classmates.

• SPIRIT - Students will create a digital award for every classmate.

7th Grade

Unit: Teamwork

  • COMMENTATOR - Students will create a 1-minute play-by-play video and comment on each play.

  • BANNER - Students will create a Banner for the desired sport.
